NOTD // Pearly Orange with a whiff of Pink

Hi all!

Today I again come to you with a nails of the day post! I’m getting into doing my nails a bit more, before I really did not paint my nails that much… (I’m more of a make-up kind of girl so eye shadow, foundation, concealer, blush but actually also skincare because I do have a problematic skin from time to time). Anyhow, I really seem to enjoy painting my nails, so that’s why I came up with this ‘design’:

Orange whiff pink

If you remember the little polishes I bought some time ago (I purchased them at Hema) you know I wanted to try them out when I had the time. Well, yesterday evening that time had come and I decided to paint my nails again. I really was curious about the pearly orange color so I really wanted to use that one on my nails! But lately I’m really into the ‘accent-nail’ trend so I wanted to do one nail different. And the look above was the result. I just kept it really simple and painted all of my nails in the pearly orange color except for my ring finger, which I painted ‘barbie-pink’. After letting them dry I just placed some pearly orange dots on my accent nail and applied a top coat. Yes, it was that simple! And I really like the result!

I really was surprised by the look of the pearly orange color, I thought it would be a bit more orange but it actually more came out as a shimmery nude (as you can see it nearly matches my skin tone), nonetheless I really like this color! I maybe think the look was more ‘noticeable’ if I used the colors vice versa (so pink nails with the orange accent) but this doesn’t change anything to the fact that I like this simple nail look.

What do you all think about it? Do you like it or not? Or maybe you would use different colors? Please let me know!

See you all next time!

Review // Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara

Hi all!

Today I have a mascara post for you guys. Yesterday I tested the Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara and  here are my thoughts about it.

The Falsies Mascara

For starters, let’s talk packaging and materials: As shown in the picture, the mascara come in a pink tube. I really like the color and shape of the tube since it to hold while applying the mascara. The brush itself is curved and this has a purpose. On the back of the tube, there are some instructions about the application. You are supposed to hold the ‘spoon side’ of the brush up to the lashes and sweep to coat your lashes from root to tip, since this would help coat all of your lashes separately.

On the Maybelline website you can read the following product description:

False lash glam, instantly!
Patented Spoon Brush fans out lashes from corner-to-corner, while our Pro-Keratin formula instantly builds volume without clumping.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Unique flexible wand helps to lift and separate lashes to provide the look of 300% more visible, fuller lashes, no gaps from any angle
  • Contact lens safe and ophthalmologist-tested

Expert Tip
Hold brush with spoon side upwards against lashes and sweep from root to tip to fill in gaps and coat each lash with Kera-Fiber formula. Repeat until false lash look is achieved. Do not let dry between coats.

After reading this I was curious about the product so I applied it to my lashes, while following the instruction on the back of the tube and keeping the expert tip in mind. And this was the result:

Applies Falsies Mascara

I really liked the result! As you can see, the mascara really coated all of my lashes and they were nicely separated! I used two coats of mascara and it really did the job! My lashes (and so my eye) were more defined. As you can see in the right-hand picture my eyelashes don’t really speak for themselves, so a good mascara does wonders for my eyes and my look.

I didn’t do much yesterday, I was just studying, but in the evening I did a bit of a workout. After my workout my mascara was still in place, even though wiped my face with a towel during/after my workout, which was great. I did not remove it with a cleaning wipe since after my shower my eyes were nice and clean.

So overall, I really was surprised by the results! I really liked the look of this mascara on my eyes and even though it isn’t the waterproof version (I normally use a waterproof version) my mascara really lasted for a good day (do keep in mind that I just was in side studying for pretty much the hole day!). This mascara will definitely be a favorite this month and I would definitely consider purchasing this one again!

What are your thoughts on the Maybelline Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara? Do you like it as much as I do? Or do you prefer another Maybelline mascara? Please let me know, so I can check them out as well.

See you all next time!

Review // Gosh Long Lasting Lip Marker

Hi all!

Today I want to give a review on the ‘Gosh Long Lasting Lip Marker’. I wanted to try this product for a long time now, so when I was at the Kruidvat (a Dutch drugstore chain) this week, I caved and finally bought one. Originally I really wanted the berry color, but since it still wasn’t back in stock (that is the reason why I waited so long before buying it) I chose this lovely lip color:

Gosh Long Lasting

As you can see, I bought a pink color, named ‘002 Pink’ (very straightforward). I could not wait to try it and rushed to the counter. The cashier scanned my item and told me I just had to pay €2,50. (Surprise!!) This beautiful product was on sale, without me knowing it, so double win for me! (Whoopee!)

Gosh Lon Lasting

As soon as I came home, I unwrapped this lip marker (I always try to buy sealed thing, since you don’t know if someone used a product in a drugstore) and had to try it.

It is a very nice and sleek packaging. Just nice and black with a colorful end (to show you which color is inside) and silver letters used to mark the name and it’s information. But what about the inside (because that’s what really matters isn’t it? :p)? Once you open the cap, a bright pink marker tip appears. This is to be expected since it’s called the ‘Long Lasting Lip Marker’. After seeing this I was very curious to try this, since I wondered if it applies evenly smooth as a regular lipstick. I did put a swatch on my hand (as you can see in the picture above) and it felt like I was writing on my hand with a regular marker, but the tip was a bit softer. I did not really know what to think about it, but since I have to put this on my lips and not on my hand that doesn’t really matter. I really liked the color of the swatch. I don’t know if you can see it really well in the picture, but it is a really bright and lovely pink. Just as I expected when I saw the back of the marker.

The description you find on the Gosh cosmetics website reads as follows:

GOSH Long Lasting Lip Marker is a fresh and lip smoothing lip stain. It has a beautiful finish and will stay exactly where you put it, throughout the day and into the night.
Description: Go from day to date without a second thought. Long Lasting Lip Marker has a unique formula which provides softness and smoothness for many hours. It is very comfortable and hydrating.”

So let’s put this to the test:
I applied the lipstick on my lips as followed: I first lined my lips (so I actually used it as a lip liner) and afterwards I filled them in. And this was the result:

Lasting Pink Lip

I really loved the result! It is such a beautiful and bright pink! As for the application; in the beginning it was a bit of a weird feeling, coloring with a marker on your lips, but it isn’t off putting. I think you just have to get used to the feeling. Thanks to the tips you can easily line your lips as well as filling them in. The application really went smooth and easy. I definitely loved this result, so I’m really going to use this product if I want to wear a bright lip color.

Now for the ‘test results’:

I had lunch and drank a glass water with it, while wearing this lipstick and I really was surprised when I looked in the mirror afterwards.

Long Lasting Test

As you can see my lipstick largely survived my lunch! The lower photo is a photo of my nude lips, just so you guys can see the contrast (I did wear lip balm is that picture since I have ‘troubled lips’). So you can touch up your lips after lunch but I did not really have to, they actually still looked pretty fine! And as for the swatch on my hand… I could not remove it with water, nor with water and soap. I had to use a beauty wipe to remove the Lip Marker from my hand! So as far as I’m concerned this Lip Marker really is great! I can definitely say this is one of my favorites!

What do you guys think? Have you ever tried the Gosh Long Lasting Lip Marker and did you like it as much as I do? And further, do you like lip markers or do you prefer regular lipstick? Please let me know in the comments.

See you all next time!

NAILS // Me and my minions

Hi guys!

Today I’m coming to you with a Nails of the day article (or better jet nails of the week since I don’t change nail polish every day :-)). I decided to be a bit crafty, took some inspiration from various video’s on youtube and decided on this look:

Minion Nails Minion nails

As you can see I opted for Minion Nails! I really love this funny little yellow creatures so much! They really made Despicable me worth watching! They made it so much more fun! It was the first time I tried some nail art, so I hope you guys like it. This nail look is really easy to do, the only thing is that you do need time to let it dry in between each step, which can be a burden…

But anyway this is my nail look! If anyone also likes to paint creations on their nails please let me know, maybe you can give me some inspiration!

See you all next time!

Haul // Hema

Hey Guys!

Since I finished my exam on Tuesday (hooray!) it is time to put my pen to paper (if you can consider this as writing) and write an article for my blog. First off all I wanted to point out (as you could already see read) that I’ve started to blog in English. You all know this isn’t my native tongue, but since I wanted to put my English some more to practice (note: I really miss speaking an writing in English since I’m back home from England) I decided to blog in English from now on.

After this being said, it’s time to commence with my Hema Haul. I wanted to get some fresh air after my exam on Tuesday and during my stroll downtown I ended up at Hema. I did not really intend to buy stuff, but since I had studied the last couple of days and wasn’t able to shop it was difficult not to buy anything seeing all this fun stationary. So I ended up buying the following things/products:

Hema Haul

Rotating Stamp and Color Ink

I really liked the rotating stamp from the moment I saw it! And since it is such a lovely stamp (I’m going to use it in the notebook for my blog) I had to buy some colorful ink (hence the orange and pink ink :p).

Little Nail Polish

Next up was the nailpolish. In Hema they sell little nail polishes (7ml) for just €1! I never tried Hema  nail polish before, so this was a great opportunity for me to buy some nail polishes. I bought a pink one and an orange one. At first sight, the pink one really reminded me of Barbie and the orange one is a nice pearly orange color but review will definitely follow.

Dip & Clean Nail Polish Remover

Since I bought some nail polish, I also needed a remover. My eyes drew my attention to this pink jar. It is the ‘Dip & Clean Nail Polish Remover’. As the name gives away, you need to dip your nail into the jar (inside there is a sponge drenched with nail polish remover) and when you remove you nail from the jar it comes out clean. I’ve never tried this concept before and since this jar was only €3 I wanted to give it a try.

And finally I bought a foundation brush. I never used a foundation brush or foundation sponge before (normally I always apply my make-up, or better yet my foundation with my fingers) but I really wanted to try a foundation brush. Therefor I bought this little black friend. Or at least I hope it’s gonna be my friend! Maybe after using this brush I will always apply my foundation with a brush, but we’ll see.

This was my little Hema Haul. Do you have any experience with Hema products or do you want to advice me something, than please let me know in the comments.

P.s. I’m cleaning op my blog a bit and I will try to translate all of the previous articles to English 🙂

Hi Everybody

Hey allemaal,

Ik voelde me toen minder zenuwachtig.

Let’s get started!

Hi all!

Welcome to Teasistars. This is a blog written by two sisters from Belgium. Why did we chose this name for our blog? Well we chose this name since we wanted to put something from ourselves in the name. Teasistarts namely reflects both of our names and our love for Tea. Let me show you:

Header - paars

You can explain out blog name in two ways:

  • TEAsistars: Tinne and Anneleen (so the first letter of both of our names) and sistars because that’s our band, we’re sisters :-), or
  • TEAsisTArs: We both like Tea ans we are sisters called Tinne and Anneleen.

Why we started out blog?

The thing is that we wanted our own place to communicate about the things that keep us busy. And face it, what’s better to do this than a blog ? So we started this blog to communicate about stuff from our daily lives or better yet (as stated in the Blog description) to share our view on (and experience with) Fashion, Make-up, Books, Music, Movies and so much more! But for us, it’s not only important to communicate our own opinion. We are most definitely interested in thoughts of others, so your opinions matter to us as well. We hope to interact with our readers and learn some more about their thoughts. So you also can communicate your opinion to us on our blog.

As stated in the Blog description, on our blog we will publish a variety of articles ranging from fun and breezy until sometimes more serious things. But most of all we will talk about what is keeping us busy in our daily lives, which is: fashion, beauty, lifestyle, music, movies, etc.

We really hope to welcome a lot of readers to our blog and we hope you will communicate your opinions but also give us your feedback on stuff we can improve or ideas on what you want to see published on this blog.

Lots of love to all of you and we really hope to welcome you frequently in the future.

See you soon!

Anneleen & Tinne

Update: My sisters lost interest in our little project, so I will be continuing on my own 🙂 I’m not going to change the name tough, I’m used to using this one.
